Police in Georgia released body camera footage on Wednesday that showed officers rescuing a screeching, terrified dog from a hot auto over the weekend.

Police say if you see a dog trapped inside a hot auto, call 911 immediately.

OFFICERS from the Alicante police canine unit, were called in to rescue a young dog from a parked vehicle in Alicante.

The owner returned to find the crews at her vehicle.

The car's interior temperature had been measured at 167 degrees Fahrenheit.

"If you see an animal trapped inside of a hot auto, call 9-1-1, so that a tragedy can be avoided", it wrote. The video shows police and fire rescue personnel providing urgent care to the animals.
