Israeli police officers killed in Jerusalem attack

The "Day of Rage" is set to take place on Wednesday over new security measures introduced at the weekend by the Israelis after police were attacked at the site, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount.

Islamic officials have condemned the security measures installed by Israel at the site, saying they will not submit to the new arrangements, calling it "collective punishment and a violation of the status quo at the site".

The Israeli security establishment is preparing for the massive Friday prayer service at Al-Aqsa, which will most likely lead to violent clashes with security forces near the Temple Mount.

A Palestinian carried out a car-ramming attack near the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, lightly wounding two Israeli soldiers before being shot dead, officials said.

Israeli-Palestinian tensions have risen in recent days following an attack near an ultra-sensitive Jerusalem holy site on Friday that killed two Israeli policemen.

Arab-Israeli lawmakers joined the protesters and called for the metal detectors at the site to be removed.

The al-Aqsa Mosque compound is a flashpoint Islamic site, which is also holy to Jews.

Homeland Security Makes 15000 More H-2B Work Visas Available
Between 2013 and 2015, his Mar-a-Lago property - also known as the "Winter White House" - employed 246 workers on the H-2B visa. President Donald Trump himself has used the visas to hire temporary workers at his golf resorts in Palm Beach and Jupiter, Fla.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone Wednesday with Israel's security chiefs as tensions mounted over a contested Jerusalem shrine where Muslims called for mass protests.

He also said that these measures are a clear violation of global human rights law.

Following the attack, Israel had closed Temple Mount to visitors, a decision that was criticised by Turkey but praised by the United States.

Israeli authorities reopened the compound to Muslims on Sunday, and non-Muslims on Monday, but with extra security measures, such as metal detectors.

"We should look at the facts and the truth - the installation of metal detectors does not constitute any change in the status quo". Late into Tuesday night, Palestinians battled police in the streets outside the Temple Mount, Palestinian sources reporting at least 14 injuries, one critical. Proposals to change security measures at the compound have sparked controversy in the past.

"So far we have no idea what they mean by inspections, but for our part, we reject physical inspections for every person who opts to enter the mosque", he said. The ruins of the Biblical Jewish Temple are also found within the holy complex.
