Venus Williams Breaks Down Over Fatal Car Crash Question

The 37-year-old American faced a tenacious opponent as she began her bid for a sixth Wimbledon singles title with a 7-6 (7) 6-4 victory.

The tennis star was involved in a fatal auto crash on June 9th in Florida.

When a reporter asked Venus how she was dealing with the accident, she broke down. Barson's husband, Jerome, 78, suffered head injuries in the crash and died two weeks later.

"There are no words to describe, like, how devastating and, yeah", she said according to Washington Post.

Christensen had been under surveillance when he declared that he had "kidnapped" Zhang after taking her back to his apartment. A girl living in a neighboring building witnessed the arrest of Christensen at his home Friday evening.

"There were video cameras placed at guardhouses where Williams lives, police have refused after multiple requests to turn those over to us, and we would like to see visual portrayal of the accident on those videos". That's what I've learned', she replied when asked about how she will deal with this situation in the next days. This resulted in the death of Jerome. So far, she has not been issued a citation or charged. Lisa told investigators that she went ahead and drove in the intersection as it was a green light for her lane. When the proceedings resumed, the moderator asked that the topic of the crash be avoided, saying, "Venus is willing to take a couple more questions about other things".

"The police report estimates that Ms Williams was travelling at [eight km/h] when Mrs. Barson crashed into her". She said that she had not seen the Barson vehicle when she crossed into their lane. Williams claimed that she entered the intersection on a green light, but had to stop at the median to wait for the traffic ahead of her to clear out. "They did everything together", Steinger said.

And then came a news conference here on Monday afternoon that was as stunning as it was revealing of an anguish she has brought with her to Wimbledon, with the grass-court surface most tailored to her game and special in her heart. Her attorney Malcolm Cunningham also told Fox News that she was sorry.

Court records obtained by the Palm Beach Post show that Barson's family listed "the expectation of recovery in an action for wrongful death" as his lone asset in a petition on behalf of his estate filed on Tuesday.
