Italian police have released a mugshot of a 30-year-old Polish man who they say has been arrested over the abduction of a British model in Italy last month.

Police said she was injected with an anaesthetic when she arrived at a Milan apartment, put inside a suitcase and taken in the boot of a auto to a village in the Piedmont region.

The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, was held prisoner for a week after being drugged, authorities said.

Officers seized Herba, who is believed to live in the West Midlands, near the British Consulate on July 17 as he was accompanying the model there and said he confessed to the crime. In the meantime, the staff at the consulate had phoned the police to say a man had called them to say he was dropping off a British woman he had "found".

The model arrived in Milan on July 10th and already had a photo shoot booked through her agent for the following day, according to the police account. The 20-year-old has given statements to police.

Study Examines Potential of Saliva in Transmitting Zika
Officials warn people to check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's list of areas with Zika before they travel. The Florida Department of Health announced in a statement Tuesday that the case was reported in Pinellas County.

As reported by the Daily Beast, on receiving the ransom demand from Herba, the United Kingdom modeling agency contacted the police, whereupon he negotiated with them to return the model for a fee of $60,000, saying he would kill her if they did not comply.

The unnamed suspect faced pre-trial before magistrate Anna Magelli yesterday.

Prosecutors described the kidnapping as a "very well-organised seizure" and added he was contacted over the internet two days later with requests to "buy" her for sexual purposes.

While it is unclear why the kidnapping came to an end, it is the reported the 20-year-old was released because she had a two-year-old child and the gang's "rules" prevent them from kidnapping and trafficking mothers.

The place where a man held a young British model, according to police. He later moved the model to a farmhouse close to Turin, some 120 miles away, where she was held captive for six days.
