Federal Bureau of Investigation executed search warrant on Paul Manafort's home in Russian Federation probe

In late July, FBI agents raided for Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's home under a search warrant.

Federal agents came to his home in Alexandria, Virginia last month in the predawn hours of July 26, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. Manafort also provided documents to congressional committees.

Last August, The New York Times discovered that a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine designated $US12.7 million in undisclosed cash payments for Manafort, who had advised the party and its former leader, Viktor Yanukovych, for almost a decade. Officials in the House, Senate and Department of Justice are now investigating the extent of Moscow's involvement in addition to any possible collusion on the Trump campaign's part.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents searched one of the residences of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, NBC News confirmed Wednesday.

"FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort's residences", a Manafort spokesman said in a statement.

"I suspect the reason why the wounds were so intense was because he was standing still for so long and his legs went numb". At first, he assumed the bleeding must've been because he cut himself on a rock, but then the bleeding wouldn't stop.

This is a breaking news and developing story.

The FBI has conducted a pre-dawn raid on the home of Donald Trump's former presidential campaign chairman, according to U.S. media.

Manafort's close associates fear that Mueller is working to build another case against him, unrelated to the presidential campaign that would then be used to force him to reveal information about Trump, in return for a softer sentence. He has impaneled a grand jury in Washington D.C. that can issue subpoenas and indictments, should he decide to pursue criminal charges.

The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive details of the investigation, said FBI agents have also been asking about Flynn's business partner, Bijan Kian, who served on the Trump presidential transition. In that meeting, Mr. Manafort answered questions and provided investigators with notes about that 2016 meeting with the Russians. The source told CNN the documents seized included financial and tax records and at least some of the information had already been provided to Senate investigators.
