He said: "I am pleased with my maths score, and in English literature I did a bit better than I thought".

Thomas Sheehy-Jamieson was ecstatic with his nine A*/A grades and grade 9 in English literature.

The school are exceptionally proud of all of their students but their top achiever, Jenna Fullerton whose average grade was an A*, achieving one 9 (the new A**), 6 A* and 3 A's, was one of the first girls to achieve the new 9 grade. Almost a third of all grades were awarded at A* or A. The number of A* equivalent grades in English Literature tripled this year and doubled in English Language.

Anne Hill, principal, said: "This is a very pleasing set of results which reflects the hard work of the students and staff".

"Eighty-one per cent of students achieved grades 9 to 4 in maths, again likely to be in the top 5 per cent nationally".

Tallulah Allen's hard work certainly paid off. Tallulah, who had revised non-stop for the past three months, achieved a clean sweep of 11A*s.

She said, 'I am thrilled that my friends and I have done so well.

While unsure of the exact progress score the school achieved, Ruth was confident it was an improvement on last year: "We know we've beaten that by quite a long way this year".
