During the meeting, Modi also congratulated Xi on the "very successful" BRICS Summit.

Both leaders were of the view that situations like Doklam shouldn't derail their bilateral and mutual and progress.

The Chinese president said that efforts should be made to increase the voice and representation of developing countries and emerging market economies in the world economic governance. The two sides shall repeat each other, seek common grounds and put aside difference, and uphold peace and tranquility on the border area.

The joint declaration signed by the BRICS countries mentioned all the various terror groups such as Taliban, ISIS, al- Qaeda and its affiliates including Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Hizb ut-Tahrir.
