One student shoots another at high school in central IL

At least one person was shot during a shooting at Mattoon High School in east central IL on Wednesday.

A male student at Mattoon High School opened fire at about 11.30am and shot another student before being quickly subdued by a teacher.

Multiple emergency response agencies are on the scene at Mattoon High School for a shooting.

The victim is reportedly in a stable condition in hospital.

The Mattoon Journal-Gazette reported that police were clearing the high school room by room.
