Taking a sensible stance, he explained that neither he nor anyone else should really decide whether China should be democratic or not and like India made its choice to be a democratic nation, China made their choice. "We have to basically compete with China", he added.

Gandhi also spoke about India-China relations. According to Gandhi, the pivotal question is how India is giving jobs to its people and if as an emerging country, people are still unemployed it's hard for them to have vision. "And that's a huge chunk of the world population", Gandhi said during his interaction. "It's very clear. And from their perspective it's a very powerful vision", Gandhi said.

Gandhi is on his two-week tour in the United States.

Asked about the Congress's Policy Planning group's visit to Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister said that as far as the democracy of the country is concerned, everybody has right to meet people.

Gandhi had said last week in the U.S. that dynasties are fact of life in India. "After that you say debate is of poor quality, of course it's poor quality". "Right now, nobody is willing to accept it", Mr. Gandhi said, adding that the PM was trying to deflect attention from the core question of jobs.

He said the politics of polarisation is a central challenge in India and some sections of the society, including the minority communities and tribal people, do not feel a part of the ruling BJP's vision.

According to him, the change would inject fresh energy into the party and that it would give a chance to a new, young leader (Rahul Gandhi) to shape things more explicitly in the way that he would want to.

Indian government says Rohingya Muslims are security threat
As the Myanmar government does not recognise the Rohingyas as its citizens, in general, it will be hard for India to deport them. Myanmar has never granted them citizenship, even though most can show their families have been in the country for generations.

NK foreign minister to address UN General Assembly
Whatever else anyone says, the core issue in this year's General Assembly will be the North Korean nuclear problem. North Korea has said the tests are meant to develop the capability to hit USA territory with a nuclear weapon.

"That is something that is being challenged to me and everything is placed on that structure of harmony - whether it's education, health care, growth, jobs", he said. And if we alienate our own people, that creates space for people to do mischief. I don't need to name who those people are.

India needs to carry every single person in the country.

The BJP hit back at Rahul Gandhi today over his attack on the government during his USA tour, saying he was running away from the battleground and travelling across the world to campaign for the Congress party. "On social mobility, quite a lot of progress but a lot more to be done", he said.

"We were in power for 10 years". We are going to build that vision not top down but bottom up.

To me, the single biggest achievement of the Congress party is to give a vision for everybody. In the 21st century, if you leave some one out from your vision, you are asking for trouble.

That vision, he said, would focus on how to solve the job problem.
