'Blade Runner' Honest Trailer Calls It Harrison Ford's Grumpiest Performance

Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford star in "Blade Runner 2049", the sequel to 1982's "Blade Runner". Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for Denis Villeneuve's epic cyberpunk film, and there's a good amount of new footage for you to enjoy.

"Blade Runner 2049", opening in theaters on Friday, is a tremendous achievement by a director who is quickly becoming one of the handful of filmmakers who can bring an auteur vision to Hollywood blockbusters.

Like all great sci-fi, Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 peer into the future to show us what could be, serving as an instructive text on how our current legislative and existential path might lead us to the brutal world it puts forth.

The Blade Runner premiere is not the only one to be affected by the tragedy, which saw 59 people killed and 527 injured after Stephen Craig Paddock fired on revellers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.

Before journalists including Reuters saw "Blade Runner 2049" at advance press screenings, they were read a note from Villeneuve urging not give away any key plot points.

The panic that passed across Ford's face as he briefly forgot his co-star's name on global television is recognizable to so many, though perhaps not to Gosling.

Sure, there are moments that "Blade Runner" fans will fully appreciate, but I'm going to keep the original on high and celebrate "2049" for its own individual strengths.

In short, while Blade Runner 2049 might be the better film, it's not the better work.

The film also stars Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis, and Sylvia Hoeks.

Forbes, on the other hand, is less than impressed with the film.

However, it has since come to be regarded as one of the most influential movies of all time. It is 163 minutes long and is Rated R for violence, some sexuality, nudity and language.
