Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. Were Investigated for Felony Fraud

In 2010, when the Major Economic Crimes Bureau of the D.A.'s office opened an investigation of the siblings, the Trump Organisation had hired several top NY criminal-defence lawyers to represent Donald Jr., and Ivanka.

After that, investigators in the Manhattan District Attorney's office began looking into whether the Trump team committed fraud or other crimes in the matter.

Trump Soho was unveiled by now President Trump back in 2006, marketing "condo-hotel" units in which buyers got a hotel room rather than an apartment, and were legally prohibited from staying there more than 120 nights per year. "I did not at the time believe beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime had been committed", he told ProPublica. Both Kasowitz and Vance deny wrongdoing, and Vance notes that he returned the $25,000 donation-but a few months after the case was dropped, Kasowitz went on to host two fundraisers for Vance and donate nearly $32,000 to his campaign.

Because of this, some buyers who concluded they had been cheated sued the Trump Organization in 2010, arguing that there was a vast difference in value between a unit in a building that was 15 percent sold (as was Trump SoHo) and one that was 60 percent sold - accusing the Trumps of a "consistent and concerted pattern of outright lies".

The report stated that just before the 2012 meeting, Vance's campaign had returned Kasowitz's twenty-five-thousand-dollar contribution.

Vance returned $32, ooo to Kasowitz last week. "[There was] no doubt they approved, knew of, agreed to, and intentionally inflated the numbers to make more sales", said one anonymous source close to the incident.

Bangladesh, Myanmar to form 'working group' on refugee crisis
Three groups of diplomats were taken to three different areas Monday, said Ye Htut, district administrator of Maungdaw in Rakhine. Border security officials in Bangladesh say they were not involved with Myanmar's decision to strengthen its border.

Kasowitz told Pro Publica he made the donations to Vance because he was "impressed by him as a person of impeccable integrity, as a brilliant lawyer and as a public servant with creative ideas and tremendous ability".

An investigation by ProPublica, WNYC and The New Yorker reveals that in 2008, the siblings massively inflated the number of the building's units that had been bought.

"In one email, according to the report, ".the Trumps discussed how to coordinate false information they had given to prospective buyers. In another, according to a person who read the e-mails, they anxious that a reporter might be on to them.

DA returns campaign contribution from Trump... "In another, according to a person who read the emails, they anxious that a reporter might be onto them", ProPublica reported.

The congressman also called on the Federal Bureau of Investigation to look into a report that the couple, both of whom are now White House employees, transferred personal email accounts to computers run out of the Trump Organization after it became clear lawmakers were looking into the matter, NBC News reported. In fact, the buyers' attorney even wrote a letter to the district attorney claiming the Trumps hadn't violated any laws. But "within weeks of the case being resolved", the outlets reported, Kasowitz contacted Vance's campaign to offer to help him fundraise. The 46-story Trump SoHo, which the American Institute of Architects called "a banal glass box", went into foreclosure in 2014 and was taken over by a creditor.
