Sylvester Stallone to direct 'Creed II'

Variety reports Stallone broke the news on his Instagram with a photo of himself and Creed star Michael B. Jordan. Many people will be undoubtedly sad that Ryan Coogler isn't returning for the sequel, given that his direction was such a big part of the first film's success, but it's not like Stallone is that awful himself at the whole "making movies" thing.

With its release in 2015, Creed earned more than $173,000,000 worldwide at the box office.

Jordan, who is starring in Coogler's superhero movie as supervillain Erik Killmonger, marking his third collaboration with the director, has previously stated he was unsure whether he would film a Creed sequel without him.

Stallone announced on Instagram on Monday that he will be directing and producing the "Creed" sequel. So, with Sylvester Stallone stepping in behind the camera, I wonder how differently it will look.

Sylvester Stallone has signed on to produce and direct a follow-up to writer/director Ryan Coogler's Creed movie.
