You can now send money in Facebook Messenger with PayPal

Last year, PayPal partnered with Facebook Messenger, allowing more than 2.5 million U.S. customers to connect their accounts, use PayPal to shop on Messenger and enable Messenger as a means of communication for PayPal users.

PayPal users in the US will now be able to send and receive person-to-person payments over Facebook Messenger, the company announced this morning.

The integration is rolling out for customers residing in the United States. Tap blue plus icon and hit the green payment button.

"Although Messenger is widely used ... consumers have been slow to warm up to the idea of interacting with chat bots and paid advertising in messaging applications", eMarketer principal analyst Debra Aho Williamson, said earlier this year. But Friday's announcement potentially expands PayPal's reach even further, allowing the payments company to potentially tap into Messenger's 1.3 billion monthly active users.

Thor Ragnarok: Taika Waititi WON'T direct Star Wars 'It's determinedly SELF-SERIOUS'
Clearly, the director has done something right with the Thor franchise, and seems to understand the sci-fi genre quite well. Tom Hiddleston's Loki is awesome too and I am so glad that they gave Idris Elba's Heimdall more to do in this time around.

All The Highlights From Lonzo Ball's Breakout Night
Ball was not an All-Star in his first appearance with the Lakers, but he showed he can grab rebounds and setup his teammates well. While the Lakers bench was going insane for Ball's performance, the rookie point guard did not offer so much as a smile.

Facebook Messenger is chock full of features, and while some of them are arguably quite useless, there are others that can prove to be quite handy at times. The feature launches today for U.S. users. PayPal can be selected as the source when making a payment to a Messenger contact. The feature works in conversations with a single person or in group chats. But for users who are not comfortable using a debit card or credit card online and prefer PayPal payments, Facebook has introduced this new feature which allows you to pay your friends using your PayPal account. Now, Facebook is bringing PayPal into the fold.

PayPal has also launched a customer bot which will essentially escort a user and assist him in sending and receiving funds.

This feature is at present only available for the USA and only accessible to the users of iOS. Apple will also be launching a payment app called Apple Pay Cash in a future update.
