This one, however, is the ZR1, the brand's most powerful ever.

Powering the vehicle is the LT5 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, but it now features a new intercooled supercharger system (52 percent more displacement than the Z06) and GM's first dual-fuel-injection system.

On the torque side, there's 715 lb-ft, or 969 Nm.

A 7-speed manual gearbox is standard, with the new 8-speed automatic an option.

With great power comes great speed. It's said to be a real road course performer, and its top speed of 210 miles per hour blows away anything out of the domestic stable save for the Ford GT, rated at 216 miles per hour.

A low-wing pack is available to maximise the ZR1's top speed, while a two-way-adjustable high wing generates more downforce and is designed for faster lap times.

THE CHEVROLET Corvette family has a new patriarch, with the new ZR1 revealed with an almighty supercharged V8 roar. We're thinking it will debut in Detroit where we'll get a slew of all-new information related to the all-new ZR1's performance. Alternatively, you can specify the High Wing, which maximizes downforce and is optimized for going around corners at track speeds.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1's aggressive appearance is driven by function, contributing to its distinction as the fastest production Corvette to date. Both wings are connected to the chassis for added stability. An American auto manufacturer has travelled all the way to Dubai to showcase their latest offering, a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. It has 13 heat exchangers in total thanks to the addition of four radiators, an opening in the carbonfibre bonnet that the entire supercharger/intercooler assembly pokes through, and a completely new design for the front fascia to make sure enough air is channelled through to that LT5 V8.

That high wing comes as part of a ZTK performance package that also brings a front splitter with carbon fibre end caps, Michelin Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, and specific tuning for the chassis and Magnetic Ride Control suspension system to boost cornering grip.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 is shown here in two color, including Sebring Orange, a package featuring an orange theme throughout. Other available features include competition sport seats, a performance data recorder, Bose premium audio system and a carbon fiber rimmed sport steering wheel. Tough luck. Pricing will be announced closer to the ZR1 going on sale next spring.
