Today's national gas price average is $2.51, which is 38 cents more than this time past year. The national average has increased 3.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 37.9 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

On Monday afternoon the average price of a gallon of regular gas was $2.29 while last week's average was $2.47.

Gas prices are holding steady this week in Rhode Island.
