Spectrum Bay News 9 reported a co-worker of Donaldson's, who also worked at the fast-food restaurant, approached police with the tip.

Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said during a news conference Tuesday that officers took the man to headquarters after a tip about a gun at a McDonald's in the Ybor City neighborhood.

Dugan said the department had received more than 5,000 tips.

He was busted at a Tampa McDonald's where he was employed after he walked in Tuesday and handed the manager a 9mm handgun.

The officer called the operations center, and police determined it was the same gun used in the four murders.

According to the a LinkedIn page the Daily News reports belongs to Donaldson, he spent some time in New York City working as a "guest experience host" for the Mets around 2016 and was arrested at least once during his time in the city, in 2014.

On Oct. 11, 32-year-old Monica Hoffa, was slain.

It's been 51 days since Donaldson claimed his first alleged victim - 22-year-old Benjamin Edward Mitchell at a bus stop near his home in Seminole Heights Oct. 9. "Well tonight, goodness has won ... tonight is the beginning of when justice will be served".

"We had a community that was on edge", Mayor Bob Buckhorn said.

Including location. According to Tampa police, it was "significant" location data from a cell phone that helped link Donaldson to the crimes.

The police chief released new video about two weeks ago showing a similar-looking person with the same gait who was present near the last homicide, 60-year-old Ronald Felton, who was shot in the back on November 14.

Donaldson graduated from St. John's University in NY in January 2017, according to school spokesman Brian Browne. And on October 19, Anthony Naiboa, 20, was killed after taking the wrong bus home from his new job.

Police said they plan to be in the Seminole Heights neighborhood Tuesday night and urged people to still remain cautious and stay in pairs.

The four killings happened within a month, all of the victims were alone when they were shot.
