Forbes reveals OEM using Synaptics' in-display sensor

We got the latest update for you, it seems that Synaptics has finally solved the problem of embedded fingerprint sensors on the display and is now mass producing it for vivo as we speak.

Lastly, Synaptics also revealed that the prototype smartphone with the under display fingerprint sensor will be revealed in CES expo 2018 next month.

Vivo aims to beat both companies to the punch with its new "Clear ID" fingerprint scanner. Until now, such sensors had to be deployed using separate physical buttons rather than being seamlessly integrated into the phones' displays. Based on numbers, this narrows it down to, Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Oppo-Vivo, or Xiaomi.

Apple recently abandoned its fingerprint scanner in favour of Face ID, partly because the new iPhone X has no space for a home button. The in-display sensors work with wet, dry, and cold fingers, and can unlock devices including while it's sitting on the table, at any angle, or while in a auto mount. It's also fully scratch- and waterproof - since it will be protected by the smartphone's glass display. "Consumers prefer fingerprint authentication on the front of the phone, and with the industry quickly shifting to bezel-free OLED infinity displays, the natural placement of the fingerprint sensor is in the display itself".

Track Palin Is Arrested For Domestic Violence & It's Not The First Time
Track Palin told police he tried to get in the door, but it did not open and he broke a window and disarmed his father. Attorney John Tiemessen, who said he represents Sarah Palin , acknowledged the arrest Sunday and asked for privacy.

Tech analyst Patrick Moorhead has been trialing the new device and said it works faster than he expected. Apple, in particular, was highly rumoured to implement the technology for its anniversary special iPhone X but the company went ahead with FaceID, which uses 3D facial mapping for biometric authentication. An in-display fingerprint sensor will definitely make more sense than an awkwardly placed rear fingerprint sensor seen on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8. With Clear ID, Synaptics is looking to offer an even more seamless solution.

For now, neither Vivo nor Synaptics is saying which of Vivo's smartphones will first come with Clear ID.

Synaptics is planning a demonstration for January 2018 on a full-production, soon to be announced "tier one" customer phone.
