Fox Halts Production on Queen Biopic Due to Bryan Singer Absence

"Twentieth Century Fox Film has temporarily halted production on Bohemian Rhapsody due to the unexpected unavailability of Bryan Singer", the studio told EW in a previous statement. Reports say that the two got into a heated argument one day that ended with Singer throwing something although there was no physical confrontation between the director and actor.

Director Bryan Singer was sacked from "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Trouble began when Singer went absent during production on several occasions.

Singer's firing is just the latest in a series of setbacks for the long-gestating project, which churned through creative talent and prospective stars for years before finally landing Malek in the leading role of late Queen singer Freddie Mercury.

Fox confirmed to ABC News that Singer was no longer directing the film, titled "Bohemian Rhapsody", but did not comment on the particulars of the situation.

Much like Solo - which was nearing the end of its shoot when Lord & Miller parted ways with Disney - Bohemian Rhapsody only had roughly two weeks before wrapping principal photography. Cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel stepped in to direct during his absence.

Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 to keep heat on City
Arsenal got back into the match in the 49th when United defender Marcos Rojo tried and failed to play Alexandre Lacazette offside. Even so, Wenger acknowledged Arsenal had only themselves to blame for a loss that effectively ended their title bid.

Now, Singer has accused 20th Century Fox of not allowing him to take time off to care for his ill parent. Tom Hollander, who plays Queen manager Jim Beach, also had a problem with Singer's behavior that he quit the project before but was persuaded to return and finish the movie.

Studio representatives declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding Singer's departure or future plans for the film, which is now slated for a December 2018 release.

On Sunday, production on the film was suspended after the director failed to show up to set. According to a report by IndieWire, Singer's absence had pushed Malek to complain to the studio.

According to insiders, Singer is claiming he is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder because of the tensions from the on-set drama.

Also, Singer's production company Bad Hat Harry has been removed entirely from the Fox production offices, following decades of profitable work, especially involving the X-Men franchise, of which Singer had directed four of the entries.
