Julian Assange's Twitter Account Again Available Hours After Being Deleted

However, Assange's previous Tweets - and habit of posting personal information about individuals - might've caused him to run afoul of Twitter's regulations.

On Monday, the U.S. Navy official Twitter account briefly tweeted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's name.

The mysterious disappearance - and re-appearance - of the account proved even more freaky when the U.S. Navy on Christmas morning mistakenly tweeted out Assange's full name, in quotes, and nothing else.

Here's what a Twitter user posted on whether Assange removed his account just to "get our attention".

It's also not even certain if Assange is aware his social media profile went down, at least for public view, as he made several posts on the platform in stride the next morning.

Assange joined Twitter in February this year and has been a fairly active user.

Did they raid him?

Julian Assange may not be home for Christmas but he did make it back to Twitter.

The official WikiLeaks Twitter account remained live throughout the ordeal and responded to the incident with a cryptic tweet of its own.

Others, however, were more buoyant following Assange's online disappearance.

The account does not appear to have been suspended by Twitter, and the most recent cached version of his account suggests he had not tweeted since Friday.
