Israel PM Netanyahu to embark on a six-day visit to India

Israel will invest United States dollars 68.6 million to boost cooperation with India in areas like tourism, technology, agriculture and innovation over a period of four years, a senior official in Jerusalem has said ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's high-profile India visit next week.

"I have secured a meeting with Putin in the coming weeks", Netanyahu's office quoted him as saying. She'll have separate engagements, as part of soft power diplomacy. During this hectic schedule, Netanyahu is also visiting Agra to see Taj Mahal.

Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to India comes 15 years after Ariel Sharon came to Delhi in 2003.

Mr. Netanyahu is the second Israeli Prime Minister to visit India. Meetings with President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu are also scheduled for Monday. Delegation-level talks will follow.

This was announced by the Embassy of Israel in New Delhi.

It said militants had used the province as the launchpad for a drone attack on two Russian bases in the last week. They clashed with Tahrir al-Sham fighters around the airport, the Britain-based war monitoring group said.

According to an Ahmedabad civic body official, a joint roadshow on an 8 km stretch from the city airport to the Sabarmati Ashram is also on the cards. They will also visit the iCreate innovation campus and centre.

Netanyahu would be arriving in Mumbai on Wednesday in the evening where he would be meeting with the Indian Jewish community. It was in Mumbai that Chabad house had come under attack during the terror attacks in 2008. The first time was in February of 2017.

"In Mumbai, the Prime Minister will meet with Jewish community leaders and select members of the Indian business community". He will also reach out to Bollywood in an exclusive "Shalom Bollywood" event.
