Coogler continued: "You know, in the comic books he's very young when [his father] T'Chaka is killed". Even the more contemporary looks are stunning: Michael B. Jordan's "incognegro" ensemble of a shearling coat and glasses is too cool for words, and every single thing that Letitia Wright's hip sister Shuri wears looks like it came straight from the runway of your dreams.

McDonald's organization MACCLID (McDonald & Associates Collective Collaboration-Light into Darkness) will host the screening February 15 at Regal McCain Mall.

The movie fills that smart, thematic framework with a naturalistic landscape of farmers and shepherds in the birthplace of humanity, living alongside a Tomorrowland city - itself as much a character as any of its people, which also include the Panther's mother (Angela Bassett), his chief adviser (Forest Whitaker), and his ex-lover and top spy (Lupita Nyong'o).

MACCLID is a partner of the Victory Over Violence campaign.

"There's no mistaking you're still in the Marvel universe here, but this entry sweeps you off to a part of it you've never seen: a hidden lost world in Africa defined by royal traditions and technological wonders that open up refreshing new dramatic, visual and casting possibilities", writes The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy in his review.

Amit Shah calls Chandrababu Naidu, asks him not to take 'tough decisions'
Naidu called the "emergency meeting" in Vijaywada upset with the Budget in which he said there was nothing for his state. However, Naidu spoke everything but not about breaking up of alliance with the BJP, though many MPs suggested the same.

Israel 'legalising' rogue settlement in response to rabbi murder: Netanyahu

Trump reportedly asked Rosenstein if he was 'on my team'
Trump has made no secret his disdain for the "Russia hoax", and he has reportedly questioned Rosenstein's loyalty to him. Interested in Russia Investigation? He and Wray met with the president this week to oppose the memo's release.

"I think it's extremely important", he stated.

"Black Panther" is the antidote to such films, though. Credible, fun and rewarding, Black Panther chapter 18 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a must-see film. "We tried to make the best film we could, the most honest film we could and go from there", said Coogler at the premier. His rage, his attitude, his hair, everything about him is wrapped up in the black American male experience, which Michael B. Jordan brings to life with a mixture of righteous tragedy.

"Black Panther" might have the spectacle and action to immediately dazzle, but it's the pathos and thought-provoking exploration of the above that really makes it resonate.

But then, all of Black Panther, shot by Rachel Morrison-who was the cinematographer on Coogler's 2013 debut Fruitvale Station, and who has just been nominated for an Academy Award for Mudbound-is simply splendid to look at, a marvel of jewel tones and shimmery grays with lots of natural greenery thrown in.

Along with Okoye (Gurira) the head of Wakanda's elite, all-female fighting force the Dora Milaje, he picks up the luminous Nakia (Nyong'o) his ex-girlfriend on the way back to his homeland. Everything Killmonger does nearly make you want to sympathize with that he is trying to achieve. "I'd eat six times a day".
