Destiny Paris James opened up about her experience meeting Drake and receiving a hefty sum of money for her education.

On Monday, he freaked out students by popping up at Miami Senior High School to shoot parts of his new video for "God's Plan".

Little did she know that her essay had made it into the hands of Drake.

"Apparently, my essay and my story made it to other departments", James wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of herself and Drake.

Before she was a university student, the SC native said she only dreamed of someday attending college even though she scored As in school.

James was filming a video for would-be donors as a scholarship recipient at the university when Drake presented her with the cheque. She received the scholarship but did not expect to get a cash reward from the singer.

According to James, Drake had told her he wanted to do something different with the music video he was shooting on campus and to give back, saying: "So I'm going to give you $50,000 to go toward your tuition".

Following Drake's short hiatus towards the end of 2017, the rapper announced his highly-anticipated return with the release of surprise EP "Scary Hours".

Obviously, I don't have the low-down on God's actual plan, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't involve Drake. During a recent interview, the producer said that he was surprised by the song's success. "He texted me, he was like, 'We got one, '" said Cardo.
