A student has been charged with bringing a homemade bomb to Pine View High School in St. George, Utah. After a bomb-sniffing canine confirmed the explosive was real, bomb techs disarmed the device, which police said could have caused "significant injury or death". More charges may be pending, according to police.

The search warrant also revealed the student had been researching information about ISIS and promoting the organization online.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, is a teenage boy and a Pine View High School student.

"The Topsham Police Department is confident he is the sole suspect in this investigation and thanks to a connected person, we were able to close this investigation successfully", the department said in a Facebook post.

He said "he was just joking around". More charges may be pending to include charges of criminal mischief from the Hurricane Police Department for an incident that occurred at Hurrican High School on February 15.

Following the incident police urged "all parents to openly communicate with their children and impress upon them that any threats, whether real or perceived, and inappropriate comments or postings on social media regarding any potential school violence will likely result in legal action and disciplinary action being taken against them". McRorie said the department is continuing to investigate.

Burkina Faso President Urges Public to Cooperate With Military After Twin Attacks
Rémi Dandjinou, Burkina Faso's minister of communication, told CNN the attackers also used an explosive device at a military site. That attack resulted in the death of four jihadists who were unable to enter the diplomatic compound, the source said.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the threat at Sheffield Area Middle/High School around 10am Tuesday.

The school was immediately evacuated and the Washington County bomb squad was called to detonate the device, officials said.

No explosive materials or devices were found on the school's campus during the sweep, according to the statement. "These are not joking matters and we stand with our law enforcement partners in ensuring all students, teachers, and staff can learn and work in a safe environment".

About 1,100 students attend the school where the bomb was discovered.

"By the end of (lunch), when the fourth period had started, then they evacuated us-which kind of anxious me because it took them the entire lunch period to evacuate all the students for something risky in the building", he said.

UPDATE (3/6/2018): Police arrested Bogi Maxwell, 18, for the shooting.
