According to USA Today, the company's distribution centers will permanently close their doors before Toys R Us officially does, which means the company will have tons of merchandise it needs to move as quickly as possible.

After moving into Whole Foods in 2017, Amazon may be considering expanding their brick-and-mortar presence into the void left by Toys "R" Us.

On March 15, after failing to reorganize around its successful stores, the toy superstore said it had to liquidate. Before the announcement of liquidating all USA stores, Toys-R-Us CEO David Brandon mapped out a plan of closing all but the 200 best stores around the country, in an attempt to settle some of the crippling debt the company had undertaken.

KB Toys went out of business in 2009 and Toys R Us acquired the brand, according to CNBC. The company is trying to salvage 200 of its top-performing locations, as part of a deal to sell off its Canadian unit in bankruptcy, but there is no guarantee a deal will come.
