The sun will rise at 6:52:01 a.m. Thursday and will set at 6:29:59 p.m. Snow showers and heavier squalls will impact much of the Valley during the second half of the day. West wind 6 to 11 miles per hour increasing to 12 to 17 miles per hour in the afternoon. Another round of accumulating snow is expected on Thursday.

Highs will only be in the 30s, but gusty winds will make it feel like the teens at times. Cloudy, with a low about 24. West wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Thursday night: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Low around 50. Southeast wind around 5 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Friday, dry with sunny spells after a locally frosty start.

Noon update: Snow showers likely this afternoon

As an area of low pressure over the Great Lakes dives southeastward, it'll bring snow across parts of Western New York.

This system will develop into yet another major storm to our south and east Sunday into Monday but at this point it looks like we'll avoid most of the precipitation.
