Hogg, one of the leaders of the March for Our Lives movement and an outspoken gun control activist in the wake of the shooting at his high school, also called out Ingraham for her comments earlier this year about National Basketball Association stars LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.

If this seems somewhat familiar, you may remember that it was about a year ago when longtime Fox News host Bill O'Reilly took what he said was a pre-planned break while dealing with an exodus of advertisers from his program.

Hogg is a survivor of the February 14 mass shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the Parkland suburb of Fort Lauderdale.

"I'll be off next week for Easter break with my kids".

Ingraham wrote Wednesday morning to her more than 2 million Twitter followers that Hogg, a high school senior, was whining about being rejected by four colleges.

Hogg and several other students from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School responded by calling for an advertising boycott of Ingraham's show and tweeting a list of companies people could contact to demand they yank their ads.

On Thursday, Ingraham tweeted an apology "in the spirit of Holy Week", saying she was sorry for any hurt or upset she had caused Hogg or any of the "brave victims" of Parkland. "She only apologized after we went after her advertisers", he told the New York Times.

"Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA - incl".

Although Ingraham later apologized "for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the fearless victims of Parkland", that wasn't enough for Hogg, who called for a continued boycott until the Fox News host "denounce [s] the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight". It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.

Mitchell explained that Ingraham has apologized to Hogg and asked the school shooting survivor whether he sees it all as water under the bridge.

I 100% agree an apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough.

After Ingraham announced her time off, he added that she should: "Have some healthy reflections this Holy Week". I think now with advertisers standing with us, we can accomplish anything.
