The Eintracht handler has been confirmed as the next Bayern Munich manager, and will take over July 1, after signing a three-year deal.

Asked about Eintracht Frankfurt coach Kovac's lack of managerial experience in the Champions League, Heynckes added: "He was a Champions League player himself and when I came to Munich in 1987 from Monchengladbach, I was very young and inexperienced". Niko was a Bayern player, he knows the people in charge as well as the structure and the club's DNA.
