A spokesperson for the Russian mission said the Russian and Syrian representatives would hold a news briefing for members of the organization on April 26 where they would speak about the alleged Douma incident.

Russian General Sergei Rudskoi on Wednesday made a number of bold claims about the April strike on suspected Syrian chemical weapons sites, essentially saying the USA was all but totally defeated by Syrian defenses.

Husari says that in one segment, the reports use behind the scenes images from the set of his short film called "Chemical", as it was being filmed in the eastern Ghouta region in 2016.

"I emphasize that the question arose in the context of Western aggression against Syria, and has nothing to do with Israel", Ambassador Alexander Shein told Ynet, referring to a joint US, France, and British strike on April 14 in response to an alleged chemical attack in Syria's Douma.

Samples taken from two different sites will be returned to the OPCW's laboratory in the Netherlands and analyzed to determine whether or not banned toxic weapons were used.

Ahmet Uzumcu, the director general of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said at a meeting of its executive council that Russian Federation and Syria cited "pending security issues" before inspectors could deploy to the town outside Damascus.

More than 40 people were killed in the suspected chemical weapons attack in the town.

Syrian facilities targeted by the strikes of the United States and its allies were not used for storing chemical weapons and the samples taken from there confirm this, chief of the Russian General Staff's main operations directorate, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy said.

Also the interlocutor of the Agency said that the air base is working as planned.

The airbase, which is just one of two operated by Russian Federation in Syria, is located in the coastal city of Jableh.

The Syrian government has repeatedly blamed the rebels and opposition activists for possessing and deploying chemical weapons. Britain vehemently denied the accusation.

The West blamed the chemical weapons attack on the Syrian government, days after which, in retaliation, the USA, United Kingdom and France carried out joint missile strikes on Syrian military bases on April 14.

Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi said in a statement Wednesday that Russian Federation will supply Syria with "new missile defense systems soon".

Russia could be about to supply the advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Syria and has warned of "catastrophic" consequences for all sides should Israel attack the missile batteries, according to a report in the Russian daily Kommersant, citing anonymous military sources.

Top Russian officials said earlier in April, that Moscow may reconsider a pledge it gave a decade ago not to provide Syria with the S-300 system in light of the air-strikes on Syria in April.
