Trump pardons '# 039 & Scooter; Libby
The Libby pardon coincided with the arrival in the White House of John Bolton as Trump's new national security adviser.
President Donald Trump pardoned Lewis "Scooter" Libby on Friday, a former Bush administration official who was convicted of perjury in 2007, in a move some see as a vengeful retaliation for former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's unflattering new book. Rather, it's been mostly about alleged false statements, just as it was with Libby.
Libby was convicted of four felonies in 2007 - for perjury before a grand jury, lying to FBI investigators and obstruction of justice during an investigation into the disclosure of the work of Valerie Plame Wilson, a former covert Central Intelligence Agency agent and the wife of former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV. Libby was never charged with leaking Plame's name to the press.
In a statement, Libby thanked Trump, saying his family has "suffered under the weight of a awful injustice". Trump has repeatedly called Mueller's probe a "witch hunt" and he and Russian Federation have both denied any wrongdoing.
Flynn, Manafort, Kushner and others now know that they don't have to worry about not answering truthfully special counsel Robert Mueller's questions because a Trump pardon will prevent them from spending any time in jail.
What We Know About The Strikes In Syria

The Cloquet track team is facing similar problems. "I'm very shocked and excited at the same time", he said. "You're always working on one or the other in all of the time that you have".
The US attorney general at the time appointed a special prosecutor to investigate the whole affair. Asked if a pardon would be about Comey, Conway said no.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway earlier Friday said, "Many people think that Scooter Libby was the victim of a special counsel gone amok". Representative Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said the Libby pardon was Trump's way "of sending a message to those implicated in the Russian Federation investigation: You have my back and I'll have yours".
Libby's attorneys, Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing, issued a statement thanking Trump for "addressing a gross injustice" they said was inflicted by Fitzgerald and Comey.
Finally, neither Mr. Trump nor his thoroughly outmatched legal team knows the full exposure he or potential witnesses face. In addition to racial profiling, Arpaio was long criticized for what many in the community decried as inhumane prisons in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix.
Trump, who often rails against disclosures to the news media but was a longtime anonymous source himself, appears to have chosen to forgive Libby for his role in the disclosure of CIA Agent Valerie Plame's idenitfication. Libby had pleaded not guilty to all charges.
