Filing shows Trump paid his lawyer

When Trump originally filed his June, 2017, financial disclosure form, he did not include the $130,000 that he paid, via his attorney, Michael Cohen, to Daniels (real name: Stephanie Clifford).

The USD130,000 payment in 2016 to Stephanie Clifford, better known as adult performer Stormy Daniels, was made by Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who seems to have only been reimbursed past year, according to the president's 2017 financial disclosure form released Wednesday.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, reportedly lied to Congress concerning the timeline of a Trump Tower building deal with Russian Federation, according to reports from Yahoo News.

Earlier this month, Rudy Giuliani - the former Mayor of NY who recently joined President Trump's legal team - revealed in a TV interview that Trump reimbursed Mr Cohen for a $130,000 payment used to keep Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, quiet about an alleged affair in 2006. The posting fueled speculation about Mr. Cohen's financial dealings, but Mr. Avenatti also made an embarrassing mistake: One of the documents he published was about a different man named Michael Cohen, not the one who represented Mr. Trump.

In addition, the Office of Government Ethics released a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein saying that it had concluded that Trump was required to disclose this liability owed to Cohen.

The document did not explicitly state what the payments were for.

Shortly after Trump won the presidential election in November that year, Cohen solicited large sums of money from corporations, with various promises of access and insight on Trump.

If the actress's account is true, the tryst would have happened just a few months after Melania Trump gave birth to her son, Barron, whose father is Mr Trump.

Mr Trump's claim began to unravel early this month, however, after Mr Rudy Giuliani, a new member of the President's legal team, said Mr Trump had reimbursed Mr Cohen for the sum paid to Ms Daniels - and the President himself subsequently acknowledged the repayment.

"I don't think he's right", Giuliani said of Apol.

"No", Trump said. "I don't know".

According to the publication, investigators obtained text messages and emails detailing Cohen's involvement in negotiations with Russian developer Felix Sater for luxury apartments, hotels, and offices called Trump Tower World Moscow.

Trump's hotel in the U.S. capital, which opened in late 2016, took in $40.4 million during 2017 while the Florida resort had revenues of $25.1 million past year.

Cohen, in congressional testimony, claimed work on the project, which never came to fruition, ended in late January 2016.
