Police say each the suspect and sufferer are each 22-year-old Nashville residents.

It happened at the mall, which is located at 433 Opry Mills Drive, just before 2 p.m.

The shooting couldn't be heard over battle scenes in "Avengers: Infinity War". A retired California officer was inside the booth and managed to get the suspect's gun.

The nearby Opryland Hotel was placed on a lockdown as a precaution. "People running, employees locking the stores", the caller said.

While police maintain that the shooting was an isolated incident, they did say that there would be an increased police presence on site.

The mall, Nashville's largest shopping center, has since been cleared. Chapple, a shift leader at the restaurant, says employees ran outside through a rear exit.
