"He deserves every bit of 30 years and more".

Planned Parenthood issued a statement in defense of Bill Cosby after the comedian was convicted of felony sexual assault. The youngest member of the panel said the comedian's own words sealed his fate.

The paper quotes Cosby saying: "When they send me to that place, I want you to be there to tell my story because it seems no one is listening, no one wants the real story".

Snyder even said he didn't even know what the #MeToo movement is, that it consists of celebrities coming forward and outing those who have allegedly sexually assaulted them. They also described the sworn testimony that the comedy icon gave as part of a lawsuit accuser Andrea Constand filed against him in 2005, which later settled for almost US$3.4 million (NZ$5 million), as particularly compelling. In the testimony, Cosby described giving quaaludes to women before sex in the 1970s, with Constand, and a Temple University women's basketball administrator.

And, Snyder, said, the testimony of five other accusers who testified was not necessary for the conviction.

"I don't think it really necessarily mattered that these other five women were here because he said it himself that he used these drugs for other women", he said. They said race and the #MeToo movement were never discussed.

"After thoughtful and meticulous consideration of the information and evidence provided to us, we came to our unanimous verdict", the jury said.

"Not once were race or the #MeToo movement ever discussed, nor did either factor in our decision", the statement read. He could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for each count on which he was convicted. His publicist called the conviction a "public lynching".

Prosecutors said they are confident Cosby's conviction will stand.

"It was his deposition, really", Harrison Snyder told "Good Morning America". But the newspaper agreed to hold his comments while his case wound through the courts.

Cosby always maintained the sex he had with Constand was consensual.

Ms. Feden took a leave from the firm to serve as a special prosecutor for Mr. Cosby's retrial.

"Some have said that I made the right decision, and some people have said that they still think that he's innocent", he said. Each one said they lost consciousness nearly immediately after being given a substance by Cosby - pills or a drink, presumably drugged - after which he sexually assaulted them.

"But, you know, I think back to the time when Camille and I went to visit Nelson Mandela in South Africa".
