Jockeys and horses have learned their respective post position draws for the 2018 Belmont Stakes.

"I just feel like most importantly the horse is doing well".

Trained by the legendary American racehorse trainer Bob Baffert, who also trained the 2015 Triple Crown victor American Pharoah, Justify began this year with three wins at Santa Anita, including the Santa Anita Derby, before going on to claim victories in the 2018 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. New York Racing Association oddsmaker David Aragona made the son of Scat Daddy the 4-5 favorite to give Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert his second Triple Crown in four years.

Justify will line up with nine horses to his right as part of a field that includes five horses he beat during a rain-soaked Kentucky Derby and two he beat at a wet and foggy Preakness Stakes.

But the rest of the field isn't likely to let the three-year-old star get away easily, and Hofburg, Vino Rosso and Tenfold are just some of those still holding out hope for an upset in Elmont.

There will be a lot at stake when Justify enters the gate in the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park this Saturday.

Belmont-based trainer Todd Pletcher has won "The Test of the Champion" three times - with the filly Rags to Riches (2007), Palace Malice (2013) and Tapwrit (2017).

Justify, who is undefeated in five outings, had been regarded as a freakish talent but an untested one until he ended a 136-year-old hoodoo at the Kentucky Derby on 5 May with his fourth win in as many tries, running from the No7 post on a sloppy track and becoming the first horse to win the famed race at Churchill Downs having not raced as a two-year-old since 1882.

Aside from all the usual speculation that comes in the aftermath of a post-position draw, Justify is worthy of his praise, as he's excelled in muddy wins at the Kentucky and the Preakness. None of the other Triple Crown winners defeated more than seven challengers in the Belmont.

Back in 2003, Juddmonte's Empire Maker took home the race, spoiling the Triple Crown aspirations of Funny Cide, who finished in third.

Post time for the 150 Belmont Stakes is scheduled for 5:37 p.m. CDT Saturday.
