How Apple plans to simplify porting iOS apps to macOS

Apple's changes saw plenty of applause during the keynote, and it's good to see the company is rolling out privacy rules for its users, especially as they browse the internet where there is so much tracking and device information being handed out and shared between companies.

The best part of this news is that these boosts will be seen across devices from the iPhone 5s, introduced in 2013, to the new iPhone X. After shareholders filed a proposal earlier this year that would have urged Apple to do something to help iPhone users limit the time they spend on their devices, the company promised it would do just that. Apple claims the software is twice as fast to launch apps and scroll lists, and I don't doubt them, so that would make iOS 12 an instant update for me already.

"If you do want to interact with one of these [tools] or one of these apps tries to access that information, you'll get this [warning message] and you can decide to keep your information private", he said.

On Monday at Apple's annual conference, the American multinational technology company revealed that the latest version of its mobile operating system iOS 12 will have new privacy features which block social media companies from tracking users'. At the same time, Apple is able to protect its valuable App Store revenue stream. Weekly reports will be sent to parent devices, and time "allowances" can be set by parents for their children.

China warns USA trade deals off if tariffs go ahead
Mnuchin, who announced the truce in mid-May, has been at loggerheads with more protectionist-minded Trump administration figures. The negotiating process should be "based on the premise" of not fighting a "trade war", the statement said.

Obama officials explain viral photos of immigrant children 'in cages'
In an interview with NPR in May, White House chief of staff John Kelly described family separation as a "tough deterrent". But if HHS can't keep track of children it was already responsible for, some fear the new policy will make things worse.

Maria Sharapova blows away Pliskova to lay down French Open marker
She managed to maintain her intensity to claim the second set 6-3 and sealed it with an ace after just over an hour of action. But as Williams beat Kristyna Pliskova in straight sets, fans were even more excited about what she was wearing.

Users can swipe on a group of notifications and choose to view them later, removing them from the lock screen. With the first iOS 12 beta we're seeing possible future iPad plans.

Siri will also suggest that users turn off some notifications if the user hasn't opened the app in a while. This has been a strong focus area for Apple's rival Samsung, and may even hint that Apple has some kind of headset in the works for release later this year - though it certainly didn't say so.

The new features were announced at the company's Worldwide Developer Conference held in San José, California.

You can set per-app or overall-usage time limits, manage app access for other users (such as children), set up warning pop-ups when you're close to hitting a preset usage time limit, and more.
