Melania Trump Set to Make Public Appearance at Gold Star Families Event

After Melania Trump failed to accompany her husband on his trip to the Camp David presidential retreat over the weekend, Grisham said on Sunday that the first lady would now skip next week's G7 summit meeting in Charlevoix, Quebec, Canada, according to a report by ABC News correspondent Meredith McGraw.

Like many people, actor and comedian Michael Ian Black has grown fascinated with the seeming disappearance of first lady Melania Trump, who was last seen in public on May 10 - nearly three weeks ago - prior to undergoing a medical procedure that was expected to keep her in the hospital for a few days, only for her to stay for the better part of a week.

The First Lady was last seen on May 10, and on May 14 had surgery for a "benign" kidney illness, recuperating in hospital for a few days before being discharged.

That event is typically hosted by the President and First Lady, although the White House has not yet confirmed she would attend.

First lady tweets that she is hard at work in the White House. Her prolonged absence has drawn not only a flood of conspiracy theories, but comparisons to what might have happened had any previous first lady pulled a similar disappearing act, as author Jessica Valenti wrote in The Guardian on Sunday.

Some say the language and tone of the tweet does not sound like Melania at all, and instead sounds more like something her husband would write.

Gowdy told Fox News that the Federal Bureau of Investigation made proper use of a confidential informant. On Wednesday, Gowdy said he had "never heard the term "spy" used" and did not see evidence of it.

"I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing", she tweeted.

"We are focused on her initiatives, and also some longer-term planning for events such as the congressional picnic and 4th of July", spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told media outlets.

The first lady has not been seen publicly for 24 days.

The first lady did attend the G7 summit in Sicily a year ago, making headlines on her debut global trip as first lady.

She had a top secret nip and tuck and will come back looking very ... refreshed.

The president said last week that his wife is "doing great". "Uniquely and remarkably, I think the press's attitude towards the First Lady of the United States is that of victim".
